Maintenance Plans & Task Lists
Our team can create, review and update maintenance plans and task lists for all types of machinery, plant and industrial processes. We can include as much detail as required without duplicating other documents that will be attached or included in the work package.
We can review the effectiveness of existing plans against breakdown and repair data, add new FMECA controls and fine tune each task or frequency to ensure they are valid and effective as a part of the overall maintenance strategy.
The instructions should be clear enough for someone who has not completed the task previously. This can be aided with the use of photos and drawing extracts.
Primarily the maintenance plan (including task list or work instruction) should include the following details using a business nomenclature:
➤Equipment Identification – Name, Unique Number (and assembly if required)
➤Equipment Department (and or process)
➤Task Title (using nomenclature & plan attributes)
➤Task Frequency with/without completion requirement (maximum period between events & cycle slip with reference to statutory tasks)
➤Estimated Time of Task (and sub tasks)
➤Skills & Resource Quantity Required Eternal Resources – Scope documents for RFQ (additional to task instructions, notice period for contractors & third parties for scheduling deadlines)
➤Tools & Equipment Required (including personal, site & hire equipment) *Hire equipment may require licenses
➤Spare Parts Required (Condition Checks of Stocked Rotable/Spares & Equipment)
➤Status of Equipment – Online, Offline or Either (including pre-shutdown for emergency system checks etc)
➤Status of Process Line – Line or Department Shutdown (example. redundant systems)
➤Personal Protective Equipment Required (Area, Task and Step Specific)
➤Reference Documents, Drawings & Manuals
➤Isolations, Permits & LOTO Requirements (General & High Risk, External for Site Utilities – Power, Gas, Water etc)
➤Site & Department Hazards & Controls
➤Task SWMS or JSA
➤SDS (MSDS) of chemicals, safe use, handling, storage, emergency and disposal information
➤Potential Environmental Issues or Breaches
➤Task Prework Instructions (setup for job, ie scaffolding, cleaning, product runout etc)
➤Task Instructions in Sequence (and hold points as required)
➤Measurement Points (Calibration, Vibration, Thickness, Length etc) or Limits
➤OEM Recommendations
The scheduling should align with forecast shutdowns and planned outages, and also be grouped with sequential and parallel process equipment on the same frequency and or maintenance package of maintenance strategy.
The call horizon should allow enough time for planning and coordination of goods and services, especially if external contractors are used and parts need to be ordered and delivered.
The scheduling period of maintenance plans should cover the forecast shutdowns and planned outages allowing estimation of duration, resources and SIMOPS required to validate outage planning.
